Teaching Statistics in Higher Education

We offer a range of prospects for studying how to teach statistics at Higher Education (HE) level. These take the form of distance learning courses and materials, and are run by The Higher Education Academy Maths, Stats and OR Network, in association with The Royal Statistical Society Centre for Statistical Education.

The Day Break Programme

The successful series of Day Break courses run by the Higher Education Academy Maths, Stats & OR Network will continue into a fifth year. In 2007 we will be offering an assortment of courses tailored to the interests and needs of participants or specialised groups.

The course topics under consideration are:

  • Clinical Trials

  • Computational Statistics

  • Data Mining

  • Environmental Sampling

  • Meta-analysis

  • Multilevel Models

  • Questionnaire Design

  • Statistical Process Control

  • Toxicology

  • Wildlife Population Studies

Course Details

Venues can be chosen to suit participants needs – at least one course in London with others in the Midlands, North West or North East

Courses will be run by a topic expert. Each course will typically last a day from 10.00am to 4.00pm with four sessions and ample opportunity for discussion.
(A minimum of 10 participants are required for a course to take place)

Cost are likely to be from £70 to £120
