Long courses being offered.

These usually lead to a degree above the bachelor level. We have only recorded here those which either have specific connections with needs in employment or which are available by distance learning. These are, of course, many MSc courses in different universities.

The Civil Service College has courses geared to civil servants. These include Statistics for Management and Policy; The Statistics of Environmental Sampling; Sampling for Scientists, Technologists and Researchers; and many others.

The IACR at Rothamsted runs two-day courses on Statistical Concepts for Statistics; Planning, analysis and interpretation of scientific experiments; the Analysis of Repeated Measures and Statistical Modelling for Scientists as well as courses linked to the Genstat software. Sofware Product Services (SPS) has a series of courses on data analysis, forecasting and time series; regression analysis and using SAS.

SPSS (or email for details) has a range of courses linked to their software. Courses include CHAID; Classification and Clustering; Building ANOVA models; Building Predictive Models; Market Segmentation; and Developing Customer Satisfaction.

The Statistical Services Centre at the University of Reading regularly runs courses for non-statisticians under the headings of Statistics for Technologist Week and Social Scientist Week as well as courses for professional statisticians under the headings of Applied Statistics Weeks (including binary and categorical data; survival data; multivariate analysis and repeated measures, Industrial Experimentation) and SAS Weeks. Other courses include model checking, and Design and Analysis.
