Over 112,000 pupils participated and there has been an explosion of data and results table on their website which links from either our portal or directly from www.abs.gov.au Have a look - you could find just the resource or data you need!

New Data Handling Mathematics Resources Booklet AvailableCensusAtSchool UK, Thu, 15 Dec 2005 10:32:47 +0100: We have compiled a collection of some of our best mathematics data handling resources from CensusAtSchool and produced them in a fully photocopiable booklet form. We have added target National Curriculum levels, topics covered by the resource and selected answers as well. It contains 27 resources, many of them with data from CensusAtSchool included. This package is available either in black and white at just £5.00 each or full colour at £10.00 each. New Flash Enabled version of CensusAtSchool launchedCensusAtSchool UK, Mon, 10 Oct 2005 13:00:00 +0100: New this year, a Flash-enabled version of the Phase 6 Questionnaire aims to engage younger learners with the CensusAtSchool project. The Flash-enabled Questionnaire is bright, colourful and simple for younger children to fill in.
Data4Learning publishedCensusAtSchool UK, Mon, 3 Oct 2005 13:00:00 +0100: Data4Learning, written by Doreen Connor and Claire Turner has now been published. A brand new innovative approach to data handling, aiming to develop pupil's thinking skills. Utilising the CensusAtSchool project and pupil's own data, it gives meaning to the data used and motivates and interests the children. International Database website launchedInternational CensusAtSchool, Mon, 19 Sep 2005 13:00:00 +0100: The CensusAtSchool International Database has been given a new home on the new International CensusAtSchool Project Website. Rebranded to reflect the international focus of the project, and available in both English and French, the website provides access to data from CensusAtSchool in the U.K., Canada, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. There is also information for countries wishing to become part of the CensusAtSchool family of projects.
New location for RSS CentreRSS Centre, Mon, 19 Sep 2005 13:00:00 +0100: The RSS Centre has moved offices to the Nottingham Trent Universitys Clifton Campus. Situated 4 miles out of Nottingham, this move puts the Centre in brand new, purpose-built facilities in an attractive campus setting.
Phase 6 Launches!CensusAtSchool UK, Thu, 1 Sep 2005 13:00:00 +0100: The CensusAtSchool Project enters a sixth year with the launch of the Phase 6 Questionnaires. Available in two versions for Primary and Secondary students, Phase 6 builds on the existing international database.
Safety in the Sun with the Sunshine SurveySurveyAtSchool, Wed, 1 Jun 2005 13:00:00 +0100: The June Survey in the SurveyAtSchool example survey series has been produced in collaboration with the charity Marie Curie Cancer Care. Focusing on Sun Awareness, the survey enables students to investigate the precautions taken when going out on sunny days.
IssuesAtSchool pilot project hailed as Outstanding SuccessIssuesAtSchool, Mon, 16 May 2005 13:00:00 +0100: A workshop with representatives from 8 of the schools which took part in the IssuesAtSchool pilot has produced an extremely positive Report on the Pilot School Use of IssuesAtSchool.
The Return of ExperimentsAtSchoolExperimentsAtSchool, Mon, 14 Mar 2005 13:00:00 +0100: After a review of previous and current use of the ExperimentsAtSchool site it has been redesigned to include aspects of the original site that were most used by schools. There is a new emphasis on interactive on-line experiments and on experiments which are fun and designed to engage the learner, enhancing the learning experience. The site was re-launched to coincide with National Science Week 2005 in March.
RSS Centre asked to carry out review of stats and data handling in GCSE curriculumQCA - RSS Centre Review, Tue, 1 Mar 2005 13:00:00 +0100: In response to Professor Adrian Smith's Report into Post-14 Mathematics Education the DfES has asked the QCA to 'review the statistics and handling data content of GCSE Mathematics to determine what should be retained as part of the core curriculum for mathematics and what may be beneficially seeded for delivery through other subjects, particularly science'. The Royal Statistical Society Centre for Statistical Education at Nottingham Trent University is carrying out the review.
SurveyAtSchool Launches!SurveyAtSchool, Tue, 1 Feb 2005 13:00:00 +0100: Complementing CensusAtSchool by completing the handling data cycle, SurveyAtSchool allows pupils to create their own online surveys and investigate the collected data. |
